Noritsu QSS-3801 G: Wet lab at its best
With the QSS-3801 G, Noritsu offers yet another state-of-technology wet lab, this time with even more equipment than the entry-level QSS-3800. Like all modern Noritsu photochemical minilab devices, the QSS-3801 G is also mainly operated by specialist image processors with a high to very high quantity of images. The device is therefore often to be found in photographic laboratories that process photo sets for schools and kindergarten photography. In comparison to the QSS-3800, the QSS-3801 G differs mainly in its high-resolution 640 dpi laser image setter, its 12x sorter unit and its integrated colorimeter. The latter is part of the paper processor. During the daily “setup”, the test prints are automatically fed to and then sized by the high-quality colorimeter.
Combined with the “EZ Controller” (optional), “AccuSmart” (included in delivery) also allows RAW image data to be processed. Using the “EZ Controller” software, ongoing image production can be interrupted and more pressing photographic work can be prioritized for processing. A visual display of job interruption indicates this. Coloured LED lights on the sorter tablet indicate which images are part of the job that has been interrupted and which belong to the job that has been prioritized. As the device can also process paper that is just 160 micrometres thick, the wet lab can produce not just photos, but also value-added image products such as “Lay-flat” photo books on genuine photographic paper.
